52nd Georgia Volunteer Infantry Company I

Welcome to the Home of the 52nd Georgia

The 52nd Georgia is a Civil War reenacting unit based out of Ringgold, Georgia. Through battle reenactments, living histories, and memorial services we attempt to educate the public about the life of the average soldier from the state of Georgia during the War Between the States.

As a unit we are members of the Georgia Division of Reenactors Association and the Elk River Battalion. We also regularly fall in and fight with other organizations throughout the year depending upon the location of the event.

The 52nd Georgia as a reenacting unit was founded on the principles of family and this still holds true today. The 52nd Georgia aims to maintain as family friendly an atmosphere as possible during events. All members families are encouraged to join as civilians.

During our events we strive to be as authentic as possible to give due honor to the men that we portray. This means that our members research uniforms and equipment and are ready to adapt to whatever the scenario calls for. Whether it be campaign or garrison camping, large battle formations or up close and personal skirmishing, the 52nd Georgia will be ready.

On a regular basis the 52nd Georgia portrays the 52nd Georgia Volunteer Infantry Company I. They were a Confederate Unit based out of Dawson County, Georgia. On occasion the scenario will call for us to galvanize at which time we portray the 123rd New York Infantry Company C.

Anyone interested in falling in with us during drill or battle feel free to contact one of the following NCO's.
